Undergraduate Program Information

Vascular Surgery is available as a two-week selective to third-year medical students during their Surgery/Anesthesia rotation at the University of Manitoba. Students can be placed at Health Sciences Centre (HSC) or St. Boniface Hospital (SBH).

Students rotating on Vascular Surgery are active participants in the clinical work of our service. On a vascular rotation, you will attend ORs, participate in rounds, and take call under the supervision of an attending or resident.

We recommend students review the chapter on “Diseases of the Vascular System” in Lawrence’s Essentials of General Surgery and the chapter on “Vascular Diseases” in Cecil’s Essentials of Medicine prior to starting the rotation.
